Wavelength are seeking a Senior Staff Specialist Anaesthetist who will be responsible for the acute pain and clinical services within this regional hospital. The facility holds 6 operating theatres, approximately 1700 births per year, high dependency and intensive care. The Department consists of 20 specialists, including 10 Registrars and 2 Residents. This is an accredited teaching hospital for Anaesthetics, providing training for registrars and medical students.
This medium-sized 320+ bed hospital provides public services to a population of approximately 300,000. In conjunction with the District, it provides an integrated network of acute, mental health, aged care, community and allied health inpatient and outpatient services. There are 79 non-consultant hospital doctors and approximately 30 staff specialists across the various specialties. In addition, there are approximately 40 visiting specialists who provide services to this hospital. The hospital itself is large enough to offer a varied and full clinical workload while maintaining the friendliness and atmosphere of a smaller hospital.
