Wavelength is seeking an Addiction Medicine Specialist ready to take on a new and exciting full time challenge in regional Victoria. This is an opportunity to clinically lead the implementation and ongoing delivery of a new regional residential withdrawal service and eventual future development of Addiction Medicine in the region. This role and service will complement the existing Alcohol and Other Drugs Service streams –Emergency Department Alcohol and Other Drugs Clinical Liaison Nurse, Non Residential Withdrawal Service, Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation, Counselling, Care and Recovery Coordination, and Catchment Based Planning.
The role will provide clinical leadership and consultation across the small rural health services, general practice and regional specialist Alcohol and Other Drug Services. In this role you will demonstrate excellent patient centred care, ensuring patients are a priority and have a safe environment. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your communication skills to become a mentor, teacher, and leader.
The Health Service
Servicing an immediate population of 107,000, this modern, 280-bed hospital consists of four theatres, in-house MRI and CT services, and a state-of-the-art clinical skills laboratory. The Health Service is the main referral Centre for the region. Services include a 24-hour Emergency Department, Surgery, Medical Services, Women’s and Children’s Services, Rehabilitation and Palliative care, Mental Health, Outpatients, and community-based health programs. Due to the area's aging population, 40% of acute services are provided to those aged 65 and over.

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Chapter of Addiction Medicine or Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Eligiblity for registration with APHRA is also crucial.
