Our client is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, optimistic and motivated Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join a cohesive perinatal team on a Visiting Medical Officer basis. You will provide excellent clinical care to patients whilst contributing to the development of specialist obstetric and gynaecology services. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your strong clinical acumen, influence and support for an enthusiastic team of health professionals, review service requirements and introduce new models of care.
Clinically you will be part of the specialist obstetric service including both obstetrics and gynaecology clinics and teaching activities and participation in the after-hours on-call service (1 in 6). Interest in a special area of obstetrics will be encouraged as will be expertise in specialised areas of gynaecology. Expertise in endoscopic gynaecological procedures would be an advantage. The hospital is an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to providing the highest level of healthcare and improving the health and wellbeing of the community. It has 120 beds and opened in 2009, serving a town population of roughly 45,000 people but a significantly larger catchment. This service runs a level 4/3 obstetric/neonatal birthing service which is based on a Midwifery Group Practice model with case load midwifery, shared care options with GPs and midwives and specialist-led obstetric clinics including high risk pregnancies. The service sees 600 births per year and is looking for someone who aligns with their values, with a true commitment and vision for the future of Obstetric and Gynaecological services, looking for opportunities to improve their services and deliver the best possible care.

You must hold Specialist registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) and Fellowship with RANZCOG, or be eligible for registration as a Specialist in Australia. You will have a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provider leadership of a team.
