As a Staff Specialist and Unit Clinical Director, you will lead the Community and Outreach Mental Health Team. You will provide oversight of the senior and junior Community medical workforce, clinical governance, clinical quality and safety, clinical key performance indicators, the implementation and evaluation of clinical service plans and models of care, best practice and clinical care (including ECT, psychological, psychosocial and pharmacological interventions), as well as system improvements to ensure the highest quality of care and safety for consumers.
This is a 0.8FTE role with your time split across managerial duties (0.2FTE i.e. 8 hours per week) and structured clinical activities (0.5FTE i.e. 20 hours per week) and teaching and educational activities (0.1FTE i.e. 4 hours per week).
This Community Mental Health Service provides a comprehensive range of community mental health services, assertive outreach service and mental health liaison service in the adult and older people setting, across Sydney’s northern regions. The service is staffed by multidisciplinary health professionals including social workers, registered nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, psychiatric registrars and psychiatrists. Services are provided at the Community Health Centre or at the individuals' home if required, as well as within the local hospital.
You will be working in a beautiful area with a range of Sydney’s beaches within a 10-minute drive while being just 30-minutes north of the harbour bridge. Locally, you will have everything you need within easy reach - the local Mall for all shopping needs, frequent transport into the city and surrounding suburbs with buses every 5-10 minutes, and absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to the beaches. You will have the option to base yourself in the city, beachside or closer to the nearby bushlands. Within the local region you will find a variety of popular cafes, bars and restaurants beachside, you can stroll through the weekend markets, enjoy the fresh sea-air with morning coastal walks or take on a bushwalking trail to truly immerse yourself in nature. There is also a variety of events on offer year-round, from health and wellness workshops to distillery tours and music events.
To be successful you must hold FRANZCP and Specialist registration with AHPRA.
