Wavelength is looking for a driven Staff Specialist Paediatrician to join a strong Paediatrics Department dedicated to serving North West Tasmania. You will showcase your expertise across a varied caseload and provide your services in inpatient, outpatient, outreach and on-call settings. In this role you will also have the opportunity to shape future Paediatricians through the health services’ comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate training program. The health service has close ties with a leading university and an academic position may be available for the successful candidate.
The Health Service
You will be working at an innovative and dynamic health service that has a range of facilities to provide the best care for their patients, including two acute hospitals, three district hospitals and seven community health centres. The hospital is a 130 bed community hospital. The health service provides high quality health care and specialist services to a combined catchment area of 100,000 people.
The hospital has a very busy emergency department, as well as obstetric and gynaecology services. There is general surgery and anaesthetics within the hospital and there are extensive outpatient services for a range of subspecialty services many of which are provided by visiting specialists.

To be successful in applying for this position you will hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and be able to demonstrate a passion for teaching and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
