The Opportunity

This opportunity will see you join an established, stable Orthopaedic department at a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility on the outskirts of Bega.

You’ll provide a comprehensive service, enjoying a varied case mix, with career development opportunities in your area of special interest. Additionally, you will assist with the training and education of junior doctors and students.

The position is primarily located at South East Regional Hospital; however, secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.

The department has 3 operating theatres, 1 procedure room and a 6-bed critical care unit (ICU/HDU/CCU). You’ll work alongside four specialists and one rotating registrar, with the additional support of locum specialists from Canberra and Sydney.

Keys to Success

You will have a wide range of experience across Orthopaedic Surgery and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will possess strong communication skills and encourage collaborative and collegiate relationships to ensure the best possible service delivery.

You will be a team player, happy to undertake after hours and on call rostering as required. Additionally, you will have a passion for mentoring and research as you facilitate the learning of junior medical staff and students from affiliated universities.

You will hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent with experience in Australia or a country with a comparable health care system such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, USA or Canada, and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.
