Wavelength is seeking an innovative Staff Specialist General Surgeon to join a dedicated surgical team in North West Victoria. In this role you will bring your clinical expertise to a varied caseload of both elective and emergency surgeries and will be rewarded with a competitive salary package.
You will be joining a tight-knit team in a modern, 165-bed tertiary teaching hospital. The hospital is located in a regional hub and is operated by a private health care company who provide public hospital services on behalf of the Victoria Government to a population of approximately 80,000 people. The hospital provides a range of Acute Services including Emergency, Maternity, Intensive Care, General Medicine and Surgery, Oncology, Medical Imaging, Pathology, Dialysis, Mental Health (inpatient and community services) and a range of Ambulatory Services.
The hospital’s General Surgical teams consist of Staff Specialists, Specialist Visiting Medical Officers (general surgery, urology and vascular surgery), SET Registrars, Provisional Registrars and several HMO’s and interns. We have 3 theatres and 1 endoscopy suite, a day surgery unit and brand-new intensive care unit.

To be successfully in this role you registered be registered with Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and College of Surgeons (RACS).
You will be able to demonstrate prior experience as a General Surgeon in a regional setting as well as the ability to work in a team and an interest in teaching medical students and junior medical staff.
