Wavelength has a rare opportunity for a General Surgeon to take on a unique role located in regional Northern Territory. You will bring your experience in general surgery alongside confidence in trauma and emergency scenarios to work across a caseload that is neither routine or predictable with the benefits of a competitive remuneration package. You will participate in an on call roster as required, and provide your expertise via consultative services as requested from your colleagues. This is an opportune chance to showcase your broad range of surgical skills as you complete both elective and emergency procedures inclusive of trauma, motor vehicle accidents, complex abdominal surgeries and vascular injuries.
This public hospital is positioned in a remote environment, located 1500 km from the next surgical facility and servicing a population spanning a 750km mile radius. The facility offers offers general medical, surgical and specialist services including Intensive Care, Psychiatric, Oncology, Obstetric and Coronary Care services. The Hospital is fitted with a modern 24-hour Emergency Department with approximately 50,012 presentations annually. The Hospital has 186 beds and had approximately 58,189 admissions in the previous year.

The successful candidate will be an experienced fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and hold specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
