This is a fantastic chance for a peadiatric Anaesthetist to develop a special clinical interest across a wide range of specialties with an innovative department. Anaesthetists with this health service have the opportunity to deliver high quality anaesthetic and perioperative care to patients. You will be responsible for managing the delivery of patient care in the department including the management of complex clinical situations while providing support to the clinical director in managing the medical workforce, participation in the after hours on-call roster is required in this position.
This 460-bed hospital is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia and is a major tertiary referral facility, serving a population of roughly 600,000 people. This is a teaching hospital for students from the universities in the local areas and offers a supportive environment for employees in a progressive workplace. Every service in this hospital is committed to the continual review and development of both its operation and its staff. The Hospital provides complex, high level services across a wide range of specialities including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, adult and paediatric ICU, general surgery, medicine, radiation and medical oncology, transplant haematology, paediatrics, obstetrics and neonatology to the North Queensland region. It also includes a 75 bay emergency department (ED) which is now the biggest ED in Queensland. The building also includes a 34 bed maternity unit and an expanded intensive care unit.

With an ability to work as a team leader you will hold fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and appropriate AHPRA registration. Australian residency or eligibility for employment in Australia is required.
