As an experienced Specialist Anaesthetist, this is your opportunity to pursue a career in regional anaesthesia in the beautiful Bega Valley.
You’ll work in a fully equipped department with state-of-the-art anaesthetic machines (GE Aisys) and monitoring, both in the operating suite, the emergency department and the 6-bed critical care unit. This includes ultrasound/echo machines and videolaryngoscopes.
You will join a team of 7 FTE Anaesthetists, including 6 Australian Fellows, 3 GP Anaesthetists and 1 International Medical Graduate. There are also rotational medical students from the Rural Clinical School, NSW, and the department is currently applying for accreditation for rotational Registrar training with the college.
The hospital sees around 300 births annually, and has 3 operating theatres and 1 procedure room, performing over 4000 operations and procedures per year.

Keys to Success
You will have demonstrable recent clinical experience in Anaesthetics and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will possess strong communication skills and encourage collaborative and collegiate relationships to ensure the best possible service delivery.
You will have a keen interest in sharing your knowledge, facilitating and contributing to the supervision and training of colleagues, junior medical officers and other relevant stakeholders within the hospital and region. You will also be committed to continuing education, research and quality improvement. Additionally, you will participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time.
You will hold Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent with experience in Australia or a country with a comparable health care system such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, USA or Canada, and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.
