As a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist, you will join the Child and Youth team in providing acute and continuing clinical care to children and young people aged 0-18 years. On a day-to-day basis you will manage the multidisciplinary client care team to ensure the provision of appropriate consumer care. This experienced team plays a role in understanding and working with the emotional and behavioural problems facing children, young people, and their families. You will also provide professional leadership within psychiatry, and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other healthcare members.
The Child and Youth service is a free, confidential, and voluntary service provided by the broader healthcare network. You will be required to work at two facilities located 20 minutes apart, and other facilities within the region’s network as required. This service provides public health care to 550,000 people living in one of Australia’s most desired lifestyle destinations. With an annual operating budget exceeding $1.3 billion, the service oversees more than 1100 beds across three hospitals, as well as a wide range of community facilities and services.
