The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist to join the Mental Health & Specialist Services team in one of Queensland’s most beautiful regions. You will provide expert Psychiatric care and advice to patients attending Mental Health services (outpatient, inpatient and hospital-in-the-home). Your professional leadership within a multidisciplinary environment will be utilised, providing training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care team members.

There is scope for negotiation regarding overtime and on-call allowances upon appointment. On offer is a 2-year contract with the possibility to extend if desired.

The hospital itself provides public access to a large range of specialist services either directly or through private partnership, with a full range of community and allied health services and mental health services. You will be joining a very supportive service, often providing excellent support as well as funding towards research.

Essential Criteria

Australia/NZ: Must hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.

UK/Ireland: Must hold MRCPsych/FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT/CCST) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.

USA: Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.

Canada: Must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
