As a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist, you will be joining a multidisciplinary mental health service in delivering high quality mental health care. You will provide comprehensive general adult inpatient and community psychiatric services, and act as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers including GPs and other agencies, regarding the assessment and management of patients. Your services will be required at various sites across the region including inpatient settings, community clinics and clients’ homes. Your expertise will be utilized in undertaking supervisory responsibilities with Psychiatric Registrars and other medical staff as required.

The hospital is a modern 160 bed facility, offering services in medical, surgical and allied health specialities through inpatient and outpatient departments. It caters for emergency resuscitation, surgery and intensive care of most trauma patients.

You will hold current registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) or be eligible for registration with experience from a country with a comparable health care system (NZ, UK, Ireland, Canada or USA). You will have extensive experience and skill in general adult psychiatry across a range of practice settings.
