This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist to join the Mental Health & Specialist Services team in one of Queensland’s most beautiful regions. You will provide acute cover and expert Psychiatric care and advice to patients attending the Mental Health Service in an out-patient setting. Your expertise will be utilised as you will provide leadership within a multidisciplinary environment as well as provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care professionals. You will benefit from the coverage of 1.5FTE Registrars and a full contingency of 8 Registrars and 6 other Consultants across the team – who you will share a 1:7 on-call requirement with.

There is scope for negotiation regarding overtime and on-call allowances upon appointment. On offer is a 2-year contract with the possibility to extend if desired.

Australia/NZ: Must hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.
UK/Ireland: Must hold MRCPsych/FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT/CCST) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
USA: Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
Canada: Must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
