The Position

As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will join a multidisciplinary mental health team. You will provide specialist assessment and treatment to infants, children young people and their families when there is a moderate to severe mental health concern, operating within a Choice and Partnership Approach. You will be responsible for ensuring all clinical steps necessary are taken to assist clients to achieve optimal health, wellbeing and safety through the provision of appropriate assessment, intervention and education. Your expertise will also be utilised in providing support for the clinical development of the service. On offer is a permanent contract with the option of a part-time (20-hours per week) or full-time commitment.

The Service

Within a full-time position, your duties will be split across an Acute Inpatient Service and Child and Adolescent Maori Mental Health Team. This Mental Health team is committed to innovation and best outcomes, implementing Routine Outcome Rating Scales across the service. The broader health network employs approximately 4,300 full-time staff and operates across 2 hospitals.
