The Head of Department is accountable for the direction of the whole service and staff. This accountability extends to the areas of clinical leadership, clinical governence, patient flow and logistics, strategic/business planning, financial and budgetary management, management of medical staff and academic and research duties.

To be successful in this role you will need to hold a substantive medical appointment and have demonstrated current clinical practice in Emergency Medicine.
Demonstrated managerial ability in strategic clinical services planning and the provision of patient focused, comprehensive, high quality and cost effective clinical service is essential and relevant clinical management expertise, post graduate management qualifications including Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators Fellowship or Associate Fellowship or attendance at appropriate management courses would be highly regarded.
