The Practice

This is a state of the art, dual model clinic consisting of ten rooms for GP consultations, one treatment room (three beds), one operation/procedure room (one bed), as well as a fully equipped skin cancer treatment room. Central Cairns with all its amentities is only minutes away

You will work alongside five other GPs with additional support from a full time Practice Manager, two to three reception staff, three registered nurses and two medical technicians.

Opening hours are 8.00am to 6:00pm Mon-Fri; 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays with flexible 40 hour working weeks. There is no on call work required and weekends are covered on a roster basis of 1 in 3.

The Location

The Practice is located on the ground floor of a new modern commercial building in the heart of the city. The building is opposite the main shopping centre, a pharmacy is located two shops down from the plaza and a Fertility Clinic and Day Surgery are located on the upper levels. The Base Hospital is located 1.8km from the plaza and many specialists are within the vicinity.

Cairns has grown from a small coastal town to a Mecca for holiday makers from around the world. There is a lot to see and do from snorkelling and scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, to strolling through the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest.

Essential Criteria

Non-DPA position.

Permanent Residency or Citizenship required for this role as there is no Health Workforce Certificate available.

GPs holding Specialist Registration with AHPRA are eligible for this role.
