An exciting opportunity awaits a GP that is looking to work across two hospitals and provide medical care to members of the local community. This position is for a GP VMO who specializes in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Within this role, you will be expected to provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a Local Health District (LHD) facility. Bringing variety to your day, you will hold clinical responsibilities, along with supervising and training other doctors and medical students. As part of this position, you will be required to participate in the obstetric on-call roster.
You will be working across two facilities that are located approximately 30kms apart from one another. One of the facilities that you will work in features 27 beds and includes acute and sub-acute medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care services, two birthing rooms and two maternity rooms, one operating theatre, six renal dialysis chairs, two-day treatment spaces, medical imaging. There are also collocated community and primary health services including outreach services to surrounding smaller towns. The facility has a modern emergency department with a large resuscitation bay and three beds.
The second facility has 28 inpatient beds which includes acute and sub-acute, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care services. It features an emergency department, medical imaging, ambulatory care, inpatient units and birthing suites.
The two facilities are located within the Western NSW Local Health District. The facilities are located just 30kms apart and are about 100kms from the nearest regional centre, Orange. The facilities are located west of Sydney between Forbes and Dubbo. There are a range of attractions that will be sure to excite the whole family – shopping centres, cafes, iconic attractions and more! Unconditional Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
Significant GP Obstetric skills and experience with successful completion of training statement from the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and current CPD in line with JCCOG requirements including attainment of Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Advanced).
Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
