The Position

Wavelength is seeking a expression off interest from General Paediatricians or dual-trained Paediatrician/ Neonatologists for an exciting part time opportunity in Victoria. You will be joining a close knit team to provide the highest standards of specialist care and relate paediatric support to the region, including engaging in a mix of face-to-face and telehealth consultations with surrounding centres, attending regular hospital meetings and teaching sessions.The department handles a mix caseload of neonates down to 32 weeks, general paediatric inpatients, adolescents, forensic assessments (supported by VFPMS), consultation for surgical paediatric patients and an increasing number of subspecialist services. Additionally, you will have an interest in leadership providing supervision and teaching of junior medical and other clinical staff as required. You will also promote a strong culture of team work whilst ensuring adequate record keeping and communication within the department.

This hospital has recently undergone a major $630 million development. Providing services to a catchment area of over 307 000, this facility hosts 372 beds alongside 11 operating theatres. Approximately 38,000 admissions are made per year for services including treatment at the integrated cancer care centre alongside Obstetric, Psychiatric and Coronary Care units. The Hospital also hosts its own child care and accommodation within the campus for ease of mind for patients and their families. The new state of the art emergency department sees over 50,000 presentations annually.

Essential Criteria
