This is a fantastic opportunity for a Forensic Psychiatrist to join an innovative and research informed multidisciplinary service. You will deliver a comprehensive range of Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute and rehabilitations services which connect to community rehabilitation services, services for intellectually disabled offenders, culture specific programmes for Maori, court liaison and prison mental health services.
This Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service is the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand, servicing the four northern District Health Boards including all courts in the northern region and 4 prisons totalling 3400 inmates. There is a Clinic with 116 inpatient beds of which 12 are for intellectually disabled persons. You will be joining a service that strongly values inclusivity and is founded on a therapeutic commitment to service users, their family and the community. The team is committed to both process and outcome quality, and to the best evidence-based practice.
