As an Emergency Medicine Specialist, you will provide professional specialist medical care to all public and private patients who attend the department, including paediatric presentations. Working alongside the Director of Emergency Medicine, you will assist with the provision of clinical leadership and professional supervision for all medical staff in the department, including being available as a teaching and resource person to medical students and junior staff. You will be involved in delivering the highest quality of clinical care including assisting with future planning and the quality improvement program.

With newly opened surgical services and maternity building, a brand new Emergency Department is also due to open in 2019. The current Emergency Department has over 30,000 presentations per annum with a 23% admission rate and a 30% paediatric case load. It is also a department accredited for 6 months advanced training with ACEM. It is the busiest Emergency Department in Western NSW and holds a working partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, providing physicians with experience in retrieval medicine. Overall, the hospitals capacity and service capability will be optimised through the significant redevelopments currently underway. The Emergency and Critical Care departments will undergo significant expansion, including a brand-new coronary care unit.

As a FACEM with specialist AHPRA registration you will have clinical experience in hospital emergency medicine within the last two years. Alternatively, you will be eligible for registration and have experience from a comparable health care country.
