As a Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine, you will provide clinical management and treatment of patients with best practice and evidence based clinical services. Your experience and knowledge will be utilised in providing supervision and education to junior medical staff and other relevant staff. You will also make a valued contribution towards the hospital becoming an accredited training centre for Emergency Medicine. This is a level 4 regional referral facility hospital with a capacity of more than 110 beds. Services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatric Medicine, Oncology, Haematology, Obstetrics, Intensive Care, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology, Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal Dialysis and Rheumatology. There is a great range of diagnostic services, as well as Allied Health Services including Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Pharmacy, Social Work and Aboriginal Health.
The Emergency Department itself sees over 19,500 presentations per year and has 15 ED spaces. The department is supported by the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and also equipped with telehealth cameras to connect the team with Specialists across NSW Critical Care Advisory Service. Further, this hospital is currently undergoing redevelopment at a value of $250 million.
