As a Specialist in Emergency Medicine, you will assist the Director in ensuring that services are cost effective, reliable, and patient centric. You will be joining a vibrant and dynamic team that continue to strive for excellence with an emphasis on sustaining and improving their fellowship training program. You will be primarily based at one hospital but clinical services at other facilities may be required at times.

With 230 beds, this hospital is the main referral centre for the region and services an immediate and surrounding population of roughly 250,000 people. With a newly built seven-story ward block, this space offers an expanded critical care service, extended emergency care unit and a helipad for trauma patients.
As the regional referral centre for emergency services, the facility sees an approximate 50,000 ED presentations per year with an admission rate of 25%. People aged 65 years and older contributed to 18% of presentations, with the admission rate increasing to 33%. The department deals with the full spectrum of Emergency Care with trauma and resuscitation a core component of work along with the management of routine emergency/urgent patient presentations.
