As an Emergency Medicine Specialist, you will be dedicated to bringing the highest standards to the department and its patients as you find yourself enjoying a rewarding career. You will provide Emergency Care to patients but also telehealth support and advice for the remote locations of the service. You will be actively involved in education and training including College training programs and training of the service’s workforce, with you own professional development also supported. You will receive a very generous salary package including a rural/remote allowance and salary loadings, and a range of benefits including the option for FIFO and other flexible arrangements. Within a full-time position, you will work on an 8-on, 6-off roster and for part-time commitments you will work an 8-0n, 20-off roster.
This Level 4 hospital has a total of 80 beds and offers primary, secondary and community health services in addition to specialist services such as anaesthetics, paediatrics, psychiatry, surgery and obstetrics & gynaecology. The hospital also hosts a range of clinics in speciality and sub-specialty services. The Royal Flying Doctor Service base provides rural retrievals and transfers and you will experience a very interesting patient load involving basically anything that Emergency Medicine provides. The ED itself is a well-equipped rural department accredited with ACEM and contains a great team of Staff Specialists, SMOs, RMOs and Registrars. You will feel welcomed by a great team and work climate with FACEMs and Rural Generalists keen to socialise in this relaxed and picturesque town.

To be successful in applying for this position you must hold FACEM and Specialist registration with AHPRA. Alternatively, you will have Specialist experience from a comparable healthcare country and be eligible for Specialist registration, having undergone assessment that allows progression to a Fellowship.
