You will be joining a quality team in a supportive environment, with opportunities available to Senior Medical Practitioners (SMP) and Registrars (unaccredited), in the Emergency Department. You will provide high quality clinical services to patients presenting to the ED, in terms of your individual performance as well as in providing clinical leadership and contributing to a multidisciplinary approach in patient care. You will be actively involved in teaching medical students and more junior doctors as well as nursing and allied health staff where appropriate. As an SMP, you will contribute to continuous improvement through clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities as well as research and CME activities.
This medium-sized regional hospital provides acute services including in-hospital care by local GPs as well as specialist surgical, obstetric, paediatric and anaesthetic services. The Emergency Department itself will be undergoing a major overhaul with an investment of over $500k. Your expertise in Emergency Medicine will play a large role in the continuous improvement of this much needed regional health service.

You must hold General registration with AHPRA and clinical experience in Emergency Medicine, at a Senior RMO, Registrar or comparable level. Alternatively, you will be eligible for registration in Australia with experience in a country with a comparable health care system such as New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Canada or the US.
