As a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) in Emergency Medicine, you will provide high quality clinical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. You will maintain accurate and comprehensive records in patients notes and prioritise medical care according to professional standards and policies. You will be joining a collaborative and cooperative team, where you will develop your clinical skills and knowledge under the guidance and leadership of experienced and supportive senior staff. This Level 1 Tertiary Teaching Hospital provides a range of acute services including emergency, maternity, intensive care, general medicine and surgery, medical imaging, pathology, dialysis and mental health. The hospital consists of more than 160 beds, enjoys modern equipment and services an area population of approximately 80,000. The hospital is affiliated with various Universities for the provision of placements, and training and education.
The Emergency Department itself receives an interesting and diverse case mix, treating 31,000 patients per annum (25% paediatric) with an admission rate of 16-20%. This service is a regional trauma centre and is well supported by Adult Retrieval Victoria.
