This expanding medical team is seeking Hospital Medical Officers (HMOs) with at least 3 years postgraduate experience including experience in Emergency Medicine/General Practice. You will gain exposure to a range of interesting and broad presentations to the Emergency Department and Short-Stay Unit, working with a dedicated and experienced team of health professionals including Senior Medical Officers, GPs and Emergency nurses. This position includes a monthly 4-day General Practice rotation at a Rural Health Service. If you are keen to further develop your expertise, this is a fantastic environment to extend your clinical skills in Emergency Medicine and General Practice. This large healthcare service provides care to a rapidly growing population of over 44,000. In response to an increase in population growth over the last 10 years, this service is continually increasing its capacity to service the needs of the community. Being a well-established hospital, it holds 51 acute beds, 20 sub-acute/rehabilitation beds, a HDU, modern theatre suite, Emergency Department, 5-bed short stay unit, palliative care, maternity services as well as an Aged Care facility, full-range of Allied Health services, outpatients services and home-based services to name but a few. The Emergency Department itself currently receives approximately 20,000 varied presentations per year including trauma cases.

To be successful you will hold current registration with AHPRA or be eligible to apply for registration with minimum level 3 supervision and experience from a country with a comparable healthcare system such as New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, Canada or USA. You will have postgraduate experience in Emergency Medicine.
