You will also have the ability to support junior staff and Senior Medical Practitioners by offering the guidance and training and by assisting with their education as the department supports candidates completing the Diploma and Certificate of Emergency Medicine, as well as a training registrar.
This regional hospital offers various services including the busy Emergency Department which sees a significant number of high acuity and trauma patients. With approximately 30,000 presentations being seen annually, the department is considered a Regional Resource Centre, taking referrals from across the region. With an admission rate of 20%, there is a 30% paediatric load and due to there being no ICU or Mental Health Unit, additional skills are required to manage critical care for these patients.
