This service is seeking an Emergency Medicine Consultant, as well as a Clinical Lead to drive a culture of excellence by supporting the organisation in the development of a skilled rural generalist emergency workforce. The Clinical Lead will provide clinical governance oversight for care provided in the Emergency Department. and will oversee the supervision of ED Junior medical staff. The position is split between non-clinical (0.25FTE) and clinical duties (0.75FTE).
On-call responsibilities are currently 1:6, rostered for 24-hours (8am-8am). As the Clinical Lead or a Consultant within the Emergency Department, you will provide direct medical management of patients and work with other medical staff within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of safe and quality care. You will benefit from generous remote area salary packaging arrangements (50% rent tax free or 50% interest on home loan tax free); an attraction and retention allowance will be negotiated, and you will have opportunities in professional development and training.
This fully integrated rural public health service provides care to a population of approximately 30,000, with a strong focus on person-centred care. The 140+ bed facility sees cat 3, 4 and 5 presentations and 15,000 attendances to the ED per year with a 20% paediatric case-load.
