As a Career Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine, you will deliver high-quality medical services and senior medical support to the Emergency Department and all other areas of the service for complex, critical or deteriorating patients as required. You will provide leadership and supervision to junior medical staff and provide expert input into clinical governance activities. This role provides the opportunity to maintain your skills and expertise in a leadership position, mentoring junior staff and students, and contributing to the future direction of this service?s Emergency Care. This large healthcare service provides care to a rapidly growing population of over 44,000. In response to an increase in population growth over the last 10 years, this service is continually increasing its capacity to service the needs of the community. Being a well-established hospital, it holds 51 acute beds, 20 sub-acute/rehabilitation beds, a HDU, modern theatre suite, Emergency Department, 5-bed short stay unit, palliative care, maternity services as well as an Aged Care facility, full-range of Allied Health services, outpatients services and home-based services to name but a few. The Emergency Department itself currently receives approximately 20,000 varied presentations per year.

To be successful you will hold General registration with AHPRA or be eligible for registration with experience from a country with a comparable healthcare system such as New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, Canada or USA. You will have 5 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including substantial periods of work in Emergency Medicine.
