A fantastic chance to build your own Emergency Department
- Great opportunity to develop the service and work towards accreditation
- Hospital redevelopment in-progress worth $150m with a brand-new ED
- Relocation assistance available
This is a great opportunity to join an evolving Emergency Department and hone your skills in service development. The health service is seeking a senior clinical leader with strong management experience who will collaborate with the Executive and Senior Management team to provide clinical leadership and drive a high-quality Emergency service for this regional service provider.
The ED Director position offers you the chance to mould the future of this regional health service from the ground up. Historically reliant on locum CMO’s, the Emergency Department is looking for a FACEM to lead and guide the department into an ACEM accredited one and to work towards funded SRMO supervision. As the ED Director, your role will be a 50:50 split between clinical and admin.
Goulburn Hospital is undergoing a $150 million redevelopment including a new Emergency Department which is due for completion in 2021. The department currently sees 19,000 presentations a year, with paediatrics representing 25% of presentations and a 20% admission rate. 50% of the presentations are in the Triage 1-3 category.
This brand-new Emergency Department will incorporate the latest digital and telehealth technology. This enables Goulburn to link with specialists and clinicians at other sites who can provide real-time specialist health care, advice and assistance to staff treating critically ill patients. Currently 2.5 FTE FACEM with CMO locum support, they would like to move towards an increase FACEM presence and reduced reliance on CMOs.
Goulburn is a budding community that offers effortless access to the coast, mountains and two major cities. With a booming commercial centre, artistic scene and sports facilities to cater for all interests, including world class horse-racing facilities, you will find plenty to keep you entertained. Traveling further afield you will enjoy snow fields in the winter, countryside walks in summer as well as white sand beaches all year round. You can choose to live in the local community or closer to our capital city – Canberra, voted Australia’s most liveable city.
You must hold FACEM and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.
