Wavelength a seeking a Director of Medical Services with a passion for regional medicine to take on an exciting role in Central-West Queensland. You will be working across two of our client’s sites and will take responsibility for the clinical and managerial oversight of medical service delivery at both locations. You will lead with a patient focused ethos and act as an advocate for the community that you serve. You will take pride in developing our clients service and creating a high performance culture through the provision of quality training and mentoring programmes for junior medical staff and by actively driving quality improvements initiatives.
Our client, based in regional Queensland, is a resourceful and dedicated leader in quality, far-reaching healthcare. In your new role you will work across two campuses. The first is an 18-bed facility that provides acute care, general surgery, accident and emergency, medical, paediatrics, gynaecology, obstetrics, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), orthopaedic, ophthalmology, outpatient and elective health services as well as a retrieval and transfer service. The second is a 9-acute-bed facility providing 24 hour accident and emergency, general hospital care, medical clinic services, Royal Flying Doctor Service evacuation to Mount Isa and Townsville, outpatient appointments and general x-ray services. The service is supported by a range of visiting specialists and allied health professionals as well as state-of-the-art teleconference facilities.
You will be joining a vibrant regional centre with a range of services and great social, fitness and retail opportunities. Less than a five minute drive from the hospital campus you will find a variety of shops, cafes and fitness facilities, including the towns aquatic centre, tennis courts and cycling tracks.
In the surrounding region you will find plenty of activities to keep you entertained in your downtime. You will be in the perfect position to explore the Outback, cruise down the Thomson River, enjoy a weekend getaway in on of the regions stunning boutique retreats or soak up the atmosphere at one of the districts many cultural, sporting or music festivals.

To be successful in your application you will hold FRACMA and be able to demonstrate prior management experience in a rural or remote setting and will possess a sound knowledge of rural medicine. You will be a natural leader and be able to demonstrate a track record of providing leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
