The Director of Emergency will work closely with the Director of Medical Services, and emergency Department team members to provide a high-quality Emergency Medical service. With an ability to work ability affectively and harmoniously in a multi-disciplinary team, duties include providing supervision, support and leadership to Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students.
The Director of Emergency has input into quality improvements, policy, procedure, and incidents and is available to assist in the provision of advice and support to outlying referring small hospitals as required. In addition, the Directors role includes overseeing the Emergency Medicine Education Trainer who is responsible for the delivery of emergency medicine tutorials.
The hospital campus services an area of 60, 000 square kilometres and a population of approximately 54,000 people. Providing a range of acute, sub-acute, residential aged care, allied health, primary care, emergency, and critical care services to the surrounding community. The emergency department see approximately 15, 000 patients each year with a workforce of roughly 1000 staff.

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) are required for this position.
