As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide your expertise within a Rehabilitation Centre, with some cover required in the Assertive Community Outreach Service as well. The Rehabilitations Centre accepts referrals of people aged 17 to 65 years although majority of clients are under 30 years. Many present with the complex challenge of both severe mental illness and co-existing drug and/or alcohol problems. The Assertive Community Outreach Service is an intensive Community Mental Health Team that works with people who present with high risk associated with their condition. The aim is to provide responsive treatment who require more flexibility and intensity of support. This is a full-time position available until June 2020.
The Rehabilitation Centre is a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation service providing a therapeutic recovery oriented environment open to people residing in the local and surrounding areas. Within the Rehabilitation Centre as well as providing some support to the Community Mental Health Team, you will work collaboratively with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams in both inpatient and community settings.
