You will be working in an Inpatient setting as a Consultant Psychiatrist, joining a welcoming and supportive multidisciplinary team. You will enjoy collegial relationships with your team members, joining a number of senior Consultants as well as 4FTE juniors, making this a great opportunity for new Fellows to join a supportive network. The ward itself has low rates of seclusion and a person-centred approach to care. Coercive treatment is low with more voluntary patients than the state average. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that may wish to explore other interests as this is a service that can provide experience across other settings to help decide where you wish to focus.
Joining a large metropolitan hospital and part of a broader health network, this health service provides a wide range of services from obstetrics to aged care, rehabilitation, emergency and intensive care, oncology, psychiatric services and Hospital in the Home (HITH). In addition to providing quality, accessible health care services, this is a teaching hospital with a history of contributing to medical research. The organisation is structured to offer integrated health care providing a wide range of coordinated services to the community, including 8 Mental Health teams across Adult, Aged, Youth, Inpatient and Community.
Based just south of Victoria, you will be situated on a beautiful peninsula looking out to the Bass Strait. Australia/NZ: Must hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.
UK/Ireland: Must hold MRCPsych / FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
USA: Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
Canada: Must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
Other qualifications can of course be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For those unable to work at Consultant level, there are multiple opportunities to take advantage of at Senior Medical Officer and Registrar level.
