As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be joining a welcoming and supportive multidisciplinary service in a newly created Drug and Alcohol Crisis Hub role. You will have a strong interest in the Drug and Alcohol setting and assist in setting up this new service and its quality and clinical standards. You will experience interesting cases involving interpersonal relations and comorbid substance use. You will be working in the Emergency Department alongside ED Clinicians while reporting to the Clinical Director of Mental Health.

In addition to providing quality, accessible health care services, this is a teaching hospital with a history of contributing to medical research. The organisation is structured to offer integrated health care providing a wide range of coordinated services to the community, including 8 Mental Health teams across Adult, Aged, Youth, Inpatient and Community.
Based just south of Victoria, you will be situated on a beautiful peninsula looking out to the Bass Strait. South of Melbourne CBD you will find yourself in a thriving district with affordable housing and featuring a high level of cultural diversity. Australia/NZ: Must hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.
UK/Ireland: Must hold MRCPsych / FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
USA: Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
Canada: Must hold Fellowship in Psychiatry or Certificate in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
Other qualifications can of course be assessed on a case-by-case basis. For those unable to work at Consultant level, there are multiple opportunities to take advantage of at Senior Medical Officer and Registrar level.
