The Position

An exciting opportunity is available for a Clinical Lead (Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist) to provide acute and continuing clinical care to patients of the Mental Health and Specialist Services and to clinically manage on a day-to-day basis the associated multidisciplinary patient care team. Your expertise will be utilised in providing professional leadership within psychiatry as well as training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members. You will provide strong leadership and support the strategic direction of this service, comprising in-patient and community services. The role also involves conducting research, sustaining a culture of innovation and championing a proactive, contemporary approach to realise the provision of timely, effective, evidence based, customer-focused and recovery-oriented pathways to care.

As Clinical Lead, you will be required to lead the clinical governance for the Northern Inpatient Unit and you will also spend 0.4 of your time in the community setting. There are 6 other Inpatient teams with approximately 8 beds per team, all with a 0.6 Consultant, 1 FTE Registrar and 1 FTE RMO. 10% of your time will be allocated to non-clinical work and on-call requirements will be shared amongst approximately 30 Consultants. Essential Criteria
