Wavelength are currently seeking a driven Director of Paediatrics to take on a challenging, multifaceted role based in Canberra.
As the Director of Paediatrics, you will use your expert clinical and management skills to provide the highest levels of care to the patients who access the service. You will balance your clinical responsibilities with developing the service and will take a leading role in budget management, service design projects, research initiatives and recruiting and developing a high performing workforce.
You will be joining a modern 620-bed tertiary hospital providing trauma services and most major medical and surgical sub-specialty services. The hospital serves a catchment population of approximately 500,000 and is the largest public hospital in the region.
As the only tertiary facility located between Sydney and Melbourne this hospital has strong links with leading universities and close partnerships with community-based services to provide holistic care for its clients.
The hospital’s Paediatrics and Children’s Health, Women, Youth and Children’s Service comprises of a 12-bed adolescent ward, 12-bed high care ward, 12-bed medical and surgical ward, day stay unit, NICU and Special Care Nursery, Maternity Assessment Unit, Antenatal and Gynaecology Ward, Postnatal Ward and several outpatient clinics.
Your new role is based in an absolute cultural hub full of academic, artistic and cultural pursuits. To be successful in applying for this role you will hold fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Paediatrics (RANZCP) and be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
You will be able to demonstrate a history of clinical excellence, experience in contributing to the strategic planning and development of contemporary health services and the ability to develop and lead multidisciplinary teams.
