This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychiatrist to provide professional leadership in the area of Mental Health within a multidisciplinary environment. If you have an interest in service development and improvement, then this is the role for you. You will provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care team members. You provide expert Psychiatric care and advice to patients attending the Mental Health Services including out-patient, in-patient and home-based. You will be well supported by Consultants within the Older Persons, General Adult Inpatient and Community based settings, as well as 8 junior medical staff including 6 Trainees.
Generally, there is a 60:40 split of managerial and clinical duties, sometimes 50:50. On offer is a 2-year contract with the possibility to extend if desired.

You will provide services across two hospitals, within a 30-minute drive of each other. The hospitals provide public access to a large range of specialist services either directly or through private partnership, with a full range of community and allied health services and mental health services. You will be joining a very supportive service, often providing excellent support as well as funding towards research. Further, this service has excellent University links and academic involvement may also be an option within the Clinical Director role.
