The Position
You will provide diagnostic assessment of, and treatment planning for, patients within the Child Adolescent Mental Health Psychiatric Service. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical supervision to medical officers and the group of motivated registrars working with you. Working in close partnership with the manager of the mental health team you will ensure the functioning of the team is optimal. The service is well structured and provides a supportive environment that balances reasonable work responsibilities with support for professional development, and opportunities to lead service improvement.
The Hospital
The health service is a 700-bed service that provides services in emergency, maternity, women’s health, medical imaging, pathology, rehabilitation, community services, hospice/palliative care, cardiology, and psychiatry. The mental health service provides psychiatric care and treatment across a large catchment area in Victoria and supports patients to pursue their own wellbeing by respecting their wishes as much as possible.

Essential Criteria
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or eligibility for substantially comparable assessment with RANZCP.
