The Position

Join a supportive and established team, who are passionate in providing services to children, young people and their families who present to the hospital with mental health difficulties. Participation in an on-call roster will be required, earning you the relevant allowances on top of your generous base salary and additional allowances. You will benefit from excellent working relationships with the Consultants and wider community mental health team as well.

The Hospital

The Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital for many specialties, and closely associated with the University of Tasmania as a training hospital. Primarily, you will be focused on providing comprehensive child and adolescent community and inpatient psychiatric services.

Known as a beautiful and liveable city, Hobart has a thriving arts and culture scene, as well as some beautiful walking routes and opportunities for outdoor adventures. Taking to the streets, you will have plenty to explore from the historic inner suburbs to popular dining strips and nationally acclaimed restaurants and cafes. While having all the amenities of a big city, Hobart can also offer a slower-paced lifestyle.

Due to its stunning location, most homes have beautiful outlooks, with many having a scenic view of the local river, mountain range or both! The city also has a wide range of public and private schools to choose from and a University and TAFE facilities. The CBD is a lively, friendly destination with a blend of pavement, arcade and centre shopping.

Essential Criteria

Australia/NZ: Must hold FRANZCP and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA

UK/Ireland: Must hold MRCPsych / FRCPsych plus UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT/CCST) and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.

USA: Must hold Certificate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been practicing as a Consultant for 3 years or more.
