As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Wavelength brings you the exclusive opportunity to join a supportive and established team, who are passionate in in providing services to children, young people and their families who present to the hospital with mental health difficulties. Primarily based within a brand-new Paediatric ward, you will have a manageable workload ranging up to 6-8 cases at any given time, with teaching, training, research, and further education actively being encouraged as well.
The existing team in which you will be based includes a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Senior Allied Health Professional, and a Psychologist, along with a dedicated lead who has been with the service for many years. What is more there is an excellent working relationship with the Paediatric Consultants and wider community mental health team as well.
Working from Monday to Friday, this role offers excellent work life balance, the opportunity to pursue areas of special interest and possibility for flexible work arrangements including part time commitments.
You will be based at a tertiary referral hospital for many specialties, and closely associated with the University of Tasmania as a training hospital. Primarily, you will be providing services in the children’s ward, adolescent ward and the emergency department with the occasional need for assistance from the adult mental health inpatient unit. At times you may be required to provide leave cover support in the community setting, or should a split role across both settings be preferred this may also be negotiated.
