As a Career Medical Officer, you will provide high quality and safe clinical care to patients across the hospital. As a part of your role you will provide supervision and education of junior medical staff within the environment, while actively participating in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes. Evening’s and weekends are required on the roster.
The hospital is a 41-bed facility with renal and oncology outpatient services onsite and 24-hour accident and emergency services. The NSW government is investing $18 million to improve the current clinical facilities at the hospital. The upgrades will enhance the sustainability, functionality, and safety of health services in the community. The upgrade includes an expanded Emergency Department.
Cooma is the largest town in the Snowy Mountains region and is the gateway to the state’s alpine area. There is skiing in winter and golf, tennis, basketball, and netball in summer, to name just a few. Bushwalking and mountain biking in the wilderness are exhilarating too, with Kosciuszko National Park the home of Australia’s highest peak. Shopping is a breeze in Cooma with large variety of shops and loads of free on and off-street parking.
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and experience working as a single practitioner in charge of a hospital for at least 12 months at PGY4+
