You will be joining a friendly and passionate Addictions team, providing assessment and treatment for Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS) clients. You will take a role in leadership, service development, safety planning and quality improvement activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to join NZ’s largest provider of alcohol and drug services and make a positive difference in the lives of people accessing mental health services across the region. You will enjoy a diverse and varied case mix, providing an interesting and challenging workload across a variety of settings.
You will be committed to clinical governance, reducing inequities, recovery-orientated systems of care and harm reduction. Alongside your dedicated team, you will take pride in providing a high standard of care and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team with a strong consumer focus. If you cannot commit to a full-time position, part-time hours may be considered.
The Community Alcohol and Drug Service (CADS) provides free services from a number of locations across the city, providing you the opportunity to work in a variety of settings. Services include community based and inpatient medical managed withdrawal (voluntary and compulsory), counselling, opioid treatment, youth, co-existing problems, pregnancy and parenting, prisons and probation etc.

You must hold or be eligible to hold FRANZCP and Specialist registration with MCNZ. Alternatively, for a Medical Officer role you will hold or be eligible to hold Provisional or Vocational registration with MCNZ.
International Medical Graduates (IMGs) can be considered, if you are unsure of your eligibility for this role please get in contact with your CV for advice. You must have experience in Addiction Psychiatry although this service will support you to become proficient at motivational interviewing and in growing your addiction expertise.
