The Position
A unique opportunity exists for an experienced General Medicine Physician to take on a senior leadership role as Clinical Director. You will oversee the coordination, governance and delivery of high-quality medical services across a major regional health service, working closely with nursing and medical leadership to drive clinical governance, service planning, workforce development and quality improvement in line with National Safety and Quality Standards.
The role includes leading senior and junior medical staff, supporting multidisciplinary collaboration and advancing new models of care to improve patient flow, KPIs and partnerships with community providers. You will also contribute to academic medicine through education, supervision, research and collaboration with the local university. Clinical duties include leading the General Medicine team, providing inpatient and consultative care and participating in the on-call roster.
This position suits a senior physician with strong leadership skills, a commitment to service improvement and a passion for delivering equitable healthcare to diverse regional communities.

Essential criteria
- Medical qualification from a recognised tertiary institution and current registration with AHPRA.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine or equivalent, with eligibility for specialist registration and accreditation as a RACP supervisor.
- Demonstrated experience in senior clinical leadership, governance, service planning and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Commitment to education, training, research and continuous quality improvement.
