== The Position == As a self-motivated and enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Registrar you will join a dynamic Emergency Department to assist with and contribute to the clinical management of patients. With Staff Specialist assistance on every shift, and with the supervision of the Director of Emergency Medicine, you will have exposure to a whole range of presentations and be comfortable with both adult and paediatric cases. You will be offered a 12 month contract beginning in February 2017 and you may be offered relocation and travel assistance. As a role accredited for training for those already enrolled on the ACEM training program, you will find your education and development encouraged. You will also find research is supported via links with the local university. Along with developing your own knowledge you will also supervise junior staff and medical students to support their development as well. The Hospital This major referral hospital provides general and specialist health services to a population of about 250,000 people. The Emergency Department itself receives on average 45,000 cases a year with all types of patient presentations including major trauma and 20% paediatric cases. As it is an accredited teaching hospital there is a strong focus on teaching and research and an opportunity to be involved with both. In terms of layout, with redevelopments happening as recently as 4 years ago, the facilities are modern and functional and the staff areas are excellent.
