The Department of General Medicine at the RHH accepts on average 13-15 admissions a day through the Emergency Department. The night staff are responsible for admitting (assessment and management) patients to General Medicine and also the subspecialties, along with the overnight RMO. The team is also responsible for the management of deteriorating patients on the wards (medical and surgical) including MET calls and Code Blue. The MET team is supported by ICU registrars.
