Radiologists working in Australia can expect to earn the following for locum and permanent roles:

  • Consultant Radiologists in Permanent roles: can earn a salary from $350,000 to $1,000,000 per year for those with Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (FRANZCR).

What qualifications do you need to work as a Radiologist in Australia and New Zealand?

A Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) involves a 5-year program. If your training program is comparable to the RANZCR training program in terms of content, duration, governance and assessment, you can apply for Specialist Assessment in Australia or Vocational registration in New Zealand and obtain FRANZCR to work as a Specialist.

As an overseas-trained Radiologist looking for a Radiology job in Australia, it is rare to be deemed substantially comparable. Doctors who have completed specialist training in the UK/Ireland (MRCR + CCT), Canada or South Africa are often deemed partially comparable.
