== The Position == Wavelength is seeking two full time, permanent Specialist Paediatricians for a unique opportunity in sunny Queensland. In this role you will have the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills whilst overseeing junior staff and delivering clinical care to patients. You will have the opportunity to shine as a medical team member in this recently refurbished facility. Reporting directly to the Director of Paediatrics and the Executive Director of Medical Services, you will take on management responsibilities alongside planning both strategic and operational processes. You will be expected to uphold the values of the health service and work harmoniously with colleagues. The Hospital This role is based in a state-of-the-art hospital comprising of 227 beds servicing 45,000 ED presentations each year, with 22,000 admissions. The facility is the main referral centre for Central Queensland, currently receiving over $200 million in federal funding to complete upgrades. These upgrades have allowed the hospital to increase its facilities in Paediatric, Maternity, Rehabilitation and Dialysis services to better meet the health care needs of the region. Additionally, the facility is affiliated with state universities allowing students to elect to study at the hospital providing valuable on site experience. == The Location == Located in Central Queensland, the area is a short drive to pristine beaches and national parklands. Boasting over 300 days of sunshine each year, there is ample time to explore the abundance of local outdoor activities on offer all year round. The region has a number of educational facilities both public and private alongside a variety of shops large and small. A large road connection to major cities in conjunction with rail services and regular flights to Australian capitals, this location is easily accessible. A location with a rich history, the housing market is varied with both modern and colonial architecture available, offering affordable options in both the rental and sales market. == Essential Criteria == The successful candidate will be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Paediatricians and eligible for full registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
