== The Position == Wavelength has an exciting full time opportunity available for a General Paediatrician who is seeking the next step in their career. If you are a newly qualified Fellow or a highly skilled Staff Specialist, this role is the perfect prospect for you! You will be joining an established team of 7 who provide a consultative service to their patients, be that in Emergency or other departments throughout this highly commended hospital. Your talents will be used outside of the hospital also, by providing paediatric support to community health services in the area for protection concerns of children and assisting them with developmental and behavioural problems. You will have the chance to grow professionally by engaging in staff development programmes within the hospital, as well as your participation in undergraduate and post graduate education activities. Due to the busy nature of the hospital, you will participate in emergency on call services. The Hospital This role is based in a rural referral hospital that has recently opened a brand new 16 bed paediatric unit. To fit in with the high demand of emergency paediatric cases of approximately 13,000 admissions each year, there is a 6 bed paediatric unit within the emergency department.  This fast paced 350 bed acute general hospital provides a range of services to the city and the surrounding region such as critical care, acute care and maternity to name a few.   The hospital has approximately 1000 births annually and 800 paediatric patients are seen each year. == The Location == This leading regional city has a lot of appeal due to its location, away from the hustle and bustle with spectacular scenery and clean country air.
